Thalmann, Jessica

I currently work as a student research assistant on the Biblia Arabica project at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich. Prior to this, I worked as a student assistant in the Department of Arabic Studies, where I designed a podcast for Arabic learners and led an Arabic reading tutorial. I also worked as a student assistant in the editorial office at the Hochschule München.
I originally began studying Near and Middle Eastern Studies because I was interested in cultural studies and wanted to challenge myself with a complex language like Arabic. To maintain my technical interests, I chose computer science as a minor during my bachelor’s degree. To complement my bachelor’s degree, I did an additional certificate in African Studies at the University of Bayreuth. My studies deepened my interest in cultural studies, as well as in Arabic and Judeo-Arabic. As a result, I am now pursuing a master’s degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies.
