Abstract

It contains a discussion of the early use of Arabic Bible translations, various versions of Daniel in Arabic, translation techniques in Sinai Arabic 1 and 2, as well as samples of other Old Testament translations in that language. A primary aim is to develop a methodology suitable especially for non-literal translations. As a means of comparison, Judaeo-Arabic translations are regularly consulted.
