Abstract

An edition only of Yefet’s introduction, Judaeo-Arabic translation, and commentary on Hosea, based on 9 Mss. (as enumerated by the editor, who divides MS: Oxford, Bodleian Libraries, Opp. Add. 4to. 168 into two distinct Mss. [א and ד], contra Polliack and Schlossberg in their recent edition)https://biblia-arabica.com/bibl/QV8ISQLS. MS: Oxford, Bodleian Libraries, Opp. Add. 4to. 168 is used as the primary witness. The editor adds specific remarks on Yefet’s translation on pp. xxxiii–xxxiv. MS: Cambridge, Trinity College, F 12 118 (=Loewe 37) is described by Birnbaum, p. lix, as “Fragments in the possession of W. Aldis Wright at Cambridge”. The manuscript quoted as Elisha; private coll. can be identified with MS: Lausanne, Lichaa 11, although no number given by Birnbaum, p. lviii. See the reviews by L.E.
