Abstract

The author posits the early non-Saadianic (i.e., pre-10th-century) provenance—based on its “hebraized spelling”—of a two-leaf fragment in the Taylor-Schechter Collection containing Judaeo-Arabic translation (in Hebrew-script) of Prov 16:24–17:26. The possibility of this fragment’s Qaraite provenance is raised on p. 32, n. 10 (on which, inter alia, see further the 2000 article of Blau and Hopkins in Pe‘amim https://biblia-arabica.com/bibl/5XG8UZ89). An edition and English translation of the fragment is included.
