Abstract
Includes a Modern Arabic translation by Farag of the first five chapters of Genesis. His translation of each verse is followed by a linguistically-oriented commentary in which he frequently explains Hebrew lexemes with reference to their Arabic cognates (an appendix is given listing all the Hebrew and Arabic cognates addressed in the book). Although apparently intended as the first in a series, no additional volumes were published.
