This article offers an overview about the state of research in the field of the Arabic Manuscripts of the New Testament. It critically analyzes the lack of the Western research in these manuscripts, which is a result of research falling between the discipline of the New Testament textual
criticism and the Orientalist studies. In this background it provides an account for the different identity questions surrounding these manuscripts and integrates them in the new discourse productions, which the Internet and the digital age facilitate.
