<note type="abstract">This version of the Psalms was produced under the patronage of F. Savary de Brèves. During his diplomatic service in Rome, he took first steps towards the establishment of a printing press, the Typographia Savariana. He began by recruiting collaborators: Gabriel Sionita (Jibrīl al-Ṣaḥyūnī) and Vittorio Scialac Accurensis (Naṣr Allāh Shalaq al-ʿAqūrī) from the Maronite College, Ḥusain, a Turk from Buda, and the printer Stefano Paolino, who had previously worked for Raimondi. The preface states that Savary de Brèves had secured the manuscript for this edition in Jerusalem during an expedition.</note>
