Abstract
A very inadequate, idiosyncratic edition and English translation of Yefet’s Judaeo-Arabic translation and commentary on Song of Songs, based on only one, complete—albeit rather late (17th-century)—Ms. in the Bibliothèque nationale. No mention at all is made of the several other Mss. witnesses in G. Tamani’s preliminary inventory https://biblia-arabica.com/bibl/T3Q3LJWP, nor is any use made of the extremely important MS: London, British Library, Or. 2554, written in Arabic characters and during Yefet’s lifetime, and unquestionably preserving a much more original text of Yefet’s work (see, inter alios, Ben-Shammai’s seminal article on this matter in Alei Sefer [1976] https://biblia-arabica.com/bibl/NCBSYSN3, as well as Wechsler’s 2008 edition of Yefet, pp. 97–112, 144–48 https://biblia-arabica.com/bibl/Y269T5AH).
